MNE Professor Michael Modest has been selected to receive the American Institute of Aeronautics and Astronautics Thermophysics Award for 2008. Modest was nominated by Professor Stefan thynell.

The award is presented for an "outstanding singular or sustained technical or scientific contribution by an individual in thermophysics, specifically as related to the study and application of the properties and mechanisms involved in thermal energy transfer and the study of environmental effects on such properties and mechanisms". The award consists of an engraved bronze medal, a certificate of citation, and a rosette pin.

Modest will recieve his award at the awards luncheon that will be held in conjunction with the AIAA Thermodphysics Conference on June 24, 2008 in Seattle, Washington.
